Vaultra plays a significant role in the energy chain, the distribution network between the generation and consumption of electrical energy. Throughout this entire process, Vaultra's solutions guarantee a safe and continuous energy supply in the fields of medium-voltage distribution, transformers, and low-voltage distribution.
With the M2L energy distributor, these products are integrated into a prefabricated complete solution that brings together the medium-voltage connection, transformer, and low-voltage distribution. A turnkey solution with significant investment and operational advantages for the installer and end customer.
A combined energy distributor with a medium-voltage switchgear, a transformer and a low-voltage distributor in a single housing, or M2L (Medium to Low Voltage) for short.
The entire unit has been prefabricated and tested under controlled conditions, and can be installed and connected on-site in a very short time.
A Vaultra M2L distributor consists of the following products:
By applying the M2L divider, the transformer can be placed much closer to where the power is needed (the centre of load). This avoids the need for long and relatively expensive low-voltage cables or busbar systems. When using the M2L divider, a proportionally longer medium-voltage cable will suffice.
The integrated solution offers significant savings on installation costs. Instead of installing heavy bundles of low-voltage cables or busbar trunking systems, only a single medium-voltage cable needs to be connected to the M2L distributor. The connection to the transformer is already prefabricated and tested.
The energy losses in longer medium-voltage cables are only a fraction of the losses in low-voltage cables or busbar systems. By applying the M2L distributor, the operational losses of the electrical installation are significantly reduced. After all, transporting large amounts of energy at low-voltage levels is associated with considerable losses. At medium-voltage level, this is limited. This aligns with corporate social responsibility and provides recurring annual savings on the energy bill for the end customer.
The M2L distributor can be placed seamlessly in a general technical room. This can eliminate the need for structural medium-voltage rooms and/or transformer rooms. The M2L distributor can be easily installed in a factory, basement, or on a platform, resulting in significant savings on construction costs. By using dry-type transformers, an M2L distributor can be installed indoors without additional measures, and no extra fire or insurance requirements apply.
An M2L distributor is fully prefabricated in an ISO 9001/14001/45001/50001/22301 certified production environment. On-site assembly and testing requires an average assembly time of only two working days.
The M2L distributor is a proven concept; the combination of a medium-voltage connection, a transformer, and a low-voltage distributor is fully guaranteed and certified by Vaultra.
Naturally, the M2L energy distributor can be fitted with intelligent energy metering. Voltage and current information is communicated by the system via Modbus RTU or other protocols to an energy management system.
